"We, the Leaders of the G7, unequivocally condemn in the strongest terms Iran’s direct and unprecedented attack against Israel. Iran fired hundreds of drones and missiles towards Israel. Israel, with the help of its partners, defeated the attack," the G7 said in a statement released by the White House.

The G7 leaders also expressed "full solidarity and support" to Israel and its people and reaffirmed their commitment to its security.

"With its actions, Iran has further stepped toward the destabilization of the region and risks provoking an uncontrollable regional escalation. This must be avoided. We will continue to work to stabilize the situation and avoid further escalation," the G7 leaders said in a statement.

At the same time, the G7 leaders called on Iran and its supporters to stop their attacks on Israel.

"And we stand ready to take further measures now and in response to further destabilizing initiatives," the G7 statement said.

NATO's spokeswoman said in a post on X (Twitter) that the Alliance condemns Iran's actions and calls for "restraint".

“It is vital that the conflict in the Middle East does not spiral out of control," she emphasized.
