The trip is focused on Russia's recent attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, emergency aid, strengthening the Ukrainian economy, and economic relations with Germany.

During his visit, the Economy Minister also wants to prepare a conference on Ukraine's recovery in Berlin in June.

Upon his arrival in Kyiv, Habeck said that the visit comes at a time when Ukraine needs all the support it can get in its fight for freedom.

"Ukraine is fighting for its self-determination, for its territorial integrity against Putin's aggression, but it is also fighting for the values that unite and define Europe," he said.

Habeck said that Germany will continue to help Ukraine rebuild the infrastructure damaged by Russian strikes.

"The Ukrainians impressed me on my last visit with their ability to improvise and quickly repair their infrastructure again and again," he said.

In Kyiv, Habeck intends to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky, Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, and Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko. Then he will travel to Moldova.

It is worth noting that Economy Minister and Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck of the Green Party supports sending Taurus missiles to Ukraine and is irritated by Scholz's unilateral decision not to send the missiles.
