This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the Financial Times.

According to the FT, the German government has sent a letter to dozens of countries, including the Arab states of the Persian Gulf, asking them to increase the number of air defense systems in Ukraine.

In the letter, Germany says that Kyiv needs urgent help to protect its cities, troops, and critical infrastructure from a “deadly onslaught” of Russian missiles.

In particular, in the letter, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that they were launching a global initiative aimed at filling the gaps in Ukraine's air defense.

They also added that they had reached out to "a wide range of non-NATO partners."
