This was reported by the head of the Avdiivka city military administration Vitaliy Barabash in his video message on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"May 25, Avdiivka. I am in the ruins of two buildings - a five-story and a nine-story building - that were hit by an air strike. Unfortunately, there are two civilians under the rubble, people are definitely dead. They are a man born in 1930 and a woman born in 1958, a teacher at one of our local schools," the mayor said.

According to him, the destruction of buildings in Avdiivka by shelling is happening every day, and more than 20 multi-storey buildings in the city have already been destroyed.

"Unfortunately, this does not encourage local residents to evacuate. I would like to call on everyone to evacuate once again. Because even if a person survives under such rubble, we are unlikely to be able to reach them, as there is no special equipment in the city to dismantle the rubble," emphasized Barabash.

He added that it is impossible to risk the lives of the State Emergency Service fighters who simply will not get to Avdiivka because 20-25 kilometers of the road to the city is constantly under fire.

"Indeed, in these conditions, they are not able to perform these works. Therefore, we need to evacuate and not wait... Indeed, even if people survive such strikes, they will most likely be buried alive, no matter how unfortunate it may sound," Barabash emphasized.
