On Thursday, May 25, Russians damaged the dam of the Karlivka Reservoir in the Donetsk region. In the village of Halytsynivka, 6 households were flooded.
This was reported by Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration.
"26 people, including 8 children, were evacuated from Naberezhna Street in Halytsynivka. As of 23:30, 6 households were flooded in the village, no critical infrastructure was found to be flooded," the statement said.
As a result of the shelling of the reservoir, the water level in the Vovcha River rose. Currently, there is a threat of flooding of houses in six settlements with a population of 981 people. Rescue and operational services are at the scene and are monitoring the situation.
