Iran launches an air strike on Israel: White House statement

The National Security Council under the US President announced the launch of an air strike against Israel by Iran. President Joe Biden gathers members of the council and is in constant communication with the Israeli side and allies.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the White House.

"Iran has launched an air strike against Israel," the National Security Council said in a statement.

They predict that the attack is likely to unfold within a few hours.

"President Biden has been clear: our support for Israel's security is ironclad. The United States will stand with the people of Israel and support their defense against these threats from Iran," the White House said.

Earlier today, on April 13, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened a military cabinet amid the threat of an Iranian attack. At the same time, neighboring Jordan closed its skies to aircraft.

At about 23:00 Kyiv time, Israeli media reported that Iran had launched attack drones toward Israeli territory.

Netanyahu said in a video address to the citizens of the state that Israel was ready for a direct attack from Iran and would respond in kind.
