Israel's Defense Ministry sees no choice but to respond to Iran
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant has warned the United States that his country has no choice but to respond to a massive Iranian attack.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Axios.
According to an unnamed American official cited by the publication, Gallant told Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin that his country cannot allow Iran to launch ballistic missiles on its territory without a response.
Gallant also noted that Israel would not accept an equation in which Iran responds with a direct attack every time Israel strikes targets in Syria.
The sources added that Austin conveyed a message to Galant similar to the statement made by US President Joe Biden in a conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In particular, the American official emphasized the need to do everything possible to avoid escalation.
