As part of the F-16 coalition, Norway is preparing to hand over 22 American fighters to Ukraine. Most of them are in usable condition.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Nettavisen.

According to the publication, Norway has received permission from the United States to transfer 22 F-16 fighters to Ukraine, as well as

  • engines,
  • auxiliary materials,
  • simulators,
  • spare parts
  • and other relevant equipment.

However, not all of these 22 fighters are fully operational - some can be used for spare parts and repairs of other aircraft.

Nettavisen writes that 12 F-16s, which Norway planned to sell to the American company Draken International, are airworthy.

"The sale agreement with Draken International does not seem to be realized, and the planes that were supposed to be used for training in the United States will instead be used to protect Ukraine's airspace," the newspaper writes.

Great junk disposal system. It's free. And yet Ukraine should be thankful for the supply of non-working equipment. Seems like a spit in our face.
