Pentagon to purchase Gepard systems for Ukraine
The American company Global Military Products has received a contract from the US Department of Defense for more than $118 million for the purchase and supply of Gepard self-propelled air defense systems for Ukraine.
According to Yevropeiska Pravda, this is stated in the Pentagon's announcement.
"Global Military Products Inc, Tampa, Florida, has been awarded a $118,375,740 firm-fixed-price contract for the purchase and delivery of 35mm Gepard air defense missile systems," the statement said.
The work will be performed in Amman, Jordan, with an estimated completion date of May 30, 2024.
The Pentagon recalled that at the time of the contract, $118,375,740 was allocated under the Foreign Military Sales Initiative (FMSI) program for fiscal year 2010.
