The United States of America (USA) currently does not observe any signs of North Korean military personnel participating in the war on the side of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine. DPRK troops are in the Kursk region.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement by Deputy Press Secretary of Defense Sabrina Singh at a briefing in Washington.
In a conversation with journalists, the Pentagon spokeswoman commented on unconfirmed reports of the possible presence of DPRK soldiers in Ukraine.
“There is no indication that there are DPRK soldiers in Ukraine,” the American official said.
The deputy Pentagon spokeswoman added that the United States has recorded that North Korean troops “are located around the Kursk region, but you know, at this point (they are - ed.) not moving into Ukraine.”
When asked by media representatives whether the United States had information about the deaths of 500 North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region as a result of a recent strike by the Ukrainian Defense Forces, Singh could not confirm or deny this.
“So, we cannot independently confirm the loss of North Korean soldiers. What we have said, you know, before, is that they are in the region and they are certainly ready to engage in combat against the Ukrainians. But I can't confirm the reports that there are casualties yet,” the Pentagon spokeswoman said.-
