In Estonia, unidentified persons wrote "The Russian occupier is the best fertilizer" and "Glory to Ukraine" on a memorial in the Maarjamae district of Tallinn.
This was reported by the Delfi portal.
Police are working at the scene, and the circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
Inna Toater, a representative of the Ida-Harju Police Department, said that the department had launched an investigation into the desecration of the memory of the dead. The relevant article of the Estonian Criminal Code provides for punishment in the form of a fine or imprisonment for up to one year.
The Police and Border Guard Department also asked residents and visitors of the Estonian capital to promptly report such incidents to the hotline. "This way we can respond and take action faster," the department said.
According to journalists, this is the tenth case of desecration of memorials in Estonia since the beginning of the year. In 2022, the police registered 32 incidents.
The Maarjamae memorial complex includes, among other things, a military cemetery where Soviet and German soldiers who died during World War II are buried.
