Stoltenberg urges Kosovo authorities to avoid destabilization
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the Kosovo authorities should avoid unilateral destabilizing steps in the region.
Stoltenberg wrote about this on his Twitter account.
Stoltenberg said that he would discuss the situation in Kosovo, where tensions have recently escalated, in a telephone conversation with EU High Representative Josep Borrell.
"Pristina and Belgrade must engage in an EU-led dialogue now, as this is the only way to peace and normalization. Pristina should de-escalate the situation and not take unilateral destabilizing steps," Stoltenberg wrote on Twitter.
He emphasized that the NATO-led International Peacekeeping Force in Kosovo will continue to provide a safe and secure environment.
