Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said during a visit to Slovenia on Tuesday that an independent Palestinian state should be recognized as soon as possible.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Associated Press reported on this.
In addition, the politician expressed his country's desire to grant Palestine membership in the United Nations.
"Spain will strive for Palestine to become a full member of the United Nations," Sanchez said in a meeting with his Slovenian counterpart, Robert Golob.
The Spanish Prime Minister visited Slovenia as part of a tour aimed at strengthening support for EU countries that support the recognition of the Palestinian state.
At the same time, the head of the government of Slovenia emphasized that the main issue for his country is the date of recognition of the Palestinian state.
"For Slovenia, the key issue is when to recognize Palestine. Not if, but when," Holob emphasized.-
