The Russian Tu-22M3 was shot down by the S-200
Ukrainian defenders shot down a Russian Tu-22M3 bomber using S-200 air defense systems.
According to RBC-Ukraine, this was stated by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov in a commentary on The War Zone.
According to the publication, in an exclusive conversation, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov, said that the Russian bomber was shot down by a long-range S-200 air defense missile system.
Earlier, Budanov said that Ukrainian defenders had been waiting for a week for the Russian Tu-22M3 bomber to reach the right range to destroy it.
On April 19, the Russian Federation once again attempted to launch a missile strike on the southern regions of Ukraine. The Russians traditionally used X-22 missiles, which were launched by two Tu-22M3 bombers.
This time, however, the occupiers received a retaliatory strike - for the first time, Ukrainian defenders shot down one of the Tu-22M3 aircraft that carried out the attack.
