The United States is ready to take additional measures against China

The United States is ready to take new measures against China because of its support for Russia's defense industry.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Deputy State Department Spokesperson Vedant Patel.

According to him, the United States believes that China supports Russia's military efforts and helps to increase the Kremlin's defense production. We are talking about significant supplies of machine tools, microelectronics, optics, and drones.

Russia also receives natural cellulose technology from China, which it uses to produce fuel for weapons; these materials fill critical gaps in the Russian defense production cycle, helping to revitalize the Russian defense industrial base. The United States is confident that Russia would face difficulties without China's help due to sanctions and export controls imposed by Washington.

"We have expressed these concerns to China through diplomatic channels, including during recent leader-level conversations, and we have briefed our allies and partners on our concerns over the past several weeks," he said.

The State Department representative also recalled President Joe Biden's executive order targeting banks in third countries that help the Russian defense industry. According to him, the United States has already imposed a number of sanctions against companies in China and is ready to make additional efforts if necessary.
