The US begins transportation of the Abrams tanks to Poland

The transportation of M1A1 Abrams tanks from the United States to Poland is starting.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of Poland Mariusz Blaszczak tweeted this on Friday, Ukrinform reports.

"The transportation of the first batch of Abrams tanks begins. Soon, 14 M1A1 Abrams tanks and three M88A2 Hercules support vehicles will be sent to Poland," Blaszczak wrote.

He added that they will be delivered to Poland by the end of June.

As you know, in early January, Poland signed an agreement to purchase 116 Abrams M1A1 tanks from the United States, which were already in operation.

In July last year, Poland received the first 28 Abrams tanks from the United States under a contract that provides for the purchase of 250 new tanks in the M1A2 SEPv3 version.

As you know, last year Poland also signed an agreement with South Korea to purchase about a thousand K2 tanks. In early December last year, Poland received the first 10 tanks of this type.

After the start of Russia's full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine, Warsaw handed over more than 250 T-72 tanks to Ukraine.
