The US provides details on the package of sanctions against Russia

The United States is preparing a large package of sanctions against Russia that will affect its defense industry and reduce its export potential.

This was stated by the US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, RBC-Ukraine reports citing the White House press service.

"We are planning to introduce a package of sanctions at the end of this week, which will obviously happen after the tragic death of Alexei Navalny. This package of sanctions will also come on the eve of the second anniversary of Russia's war against Ukraine," Sullivan said.

According to him, it will be a substantial package of sanctions that covers many different elements of the Russian military-industrial base and sources of revenue for the Russian economy, which together drive the Russian war machine.

"I'd like to emphasize that it complements the robust sanctions framework that we've been working with our allies and partners to build over the last two years," the National Security Advisor added.

He also noted that the United States and its allies are working hard and diligently to continue to impose costs for what Russia has done to Navalny and Ukraine and for the threat it poses to international peace and security.
