Tsakhkna: Ukraine's strikes on Russian refineries are self-defence

Apr 12, 2024

Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhkna believes that Ukraine's attacks on Russian oil refineries are justified if they help reduce Russian revenues and make it more difficult for Russia to wage war.

He wrote about this on his Twitter account (X).

Tsakhkna noted that attacks on Russian oil refineries should not be overly dramatized, while Russia is systematically destroying Ukraine's energy infrastructure and continues to occupy the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.

"What Ukraine is doing is self-defence. Ukraine is striking at military targets that directly provide fuel for the war machines that are destroying people and homes in Ukraine," the minister said.

He stressed that oil and gas revenues allow Russia to continue its bloody aggression.
