Hanna Malyar emphasized that the situation is developing dynamically in the epicenter of the fighting in the Bakhmut sector: "Our troops are gradually advancing in two directions in the suburbs of Bakhmut."
Malyar refused to give specific figures because active hostilities are ongoing.
According to her, Ukrainian defenders are destroying the enemy and have already taken many prisoners. The situation in the city itself is more complicated.
"However, thanks to the competent planning of the command and the courage of our soldiers, the enemy does not manage to take control of the city," emphasized Malyar.
Roman Hryshchenko, commander of the 127th separate brigade of the Third Marine Corps, spoke about the situation directly from Bakhmut.
"Even if there are no buildings left in Bakhmut, we will fight for the city on the streets. Please do not make any assumptions or analyses. We have plans, we know what work needs to be done, but let's not let the enemy figure it out and recognize our plans," said Gryshchenko.-
In the first three days of the counteroffensive, the Defense Forces liberated more than seventeen square kilometers of territory in the Bakhmut sector. This was stated by the spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhiy Cherevaty.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russians continue to conduct offensive actions in the Bakhmut sector, while Ukrainian defenders are conducting offensive actions along with positional defense.
