"We must pass Ukraine aid now. Today, at a classified briefing, our Committee was informed of the critical need to provide Ukrainian military aid this week. The United States must immediately stand against Putin's war of aggression now as Ukraine’s situation on the ground is critical," the post reads.

The statement bears the signatures of the committee members, Republican Mike Turner and Democrat Jim Himes.

As a reminder, the day before, House Speaker Mike Johnson launched an initiative to split the bill on aid to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan, previously supported by the Senate. His idea envisages a package of four separate bills, the fourth of which should be a document on US national security priorities, including provisions on providing assistance to Ukraine in the form of a loan and the use of frozen Russian assets.
