Zelenskyy says Ukraine is ready for a counteroffensive

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is ready for a counteroffensive to liberate its territory from Russian occupiers. He said this in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.

"I believe that today we are ready to do this (it is clear from the context that this is a counteroffensive - ed.) We would like to have some things in place, but we can't wait for months. We believe in success, I don't know how much time we will need," Zelenskyy said.

Ukraine will soon launch its long-awaited counter-offensive to liberate the occupied territories from the Russian fascist invaders. This was stated directly by the Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov in an interview with the Japanese broadcaster NHK on May 23.

"Many civilians are still under Russian occupation, and we cannot waste any more time. We already have a minimum of weapons and other equipment. All I can say is that it will start soon," the general said.

The expectations of the global progressive community and specific Western politicians from the announced counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are overstated. This was stated by Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov in an interview with The Washington Post in May.

"Most people expect something huge. Such expectations can lead to emotional disappointment," Reznikov warned at the time.
