Austin talks to new Russian Defense Minister for the first time

Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin spoke on the phone for the first time with Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov.

Details: According to him, during the conversation, Pentagon Secretary Lloyd Austin noted that it is important for the military departments of Russia and the United States to maintain communication.
The last conversation between representatives of the US and Russian Defense Ministries took place in March 2023, when Austin spoke with Sergei Shoigu.
