It is noted that during the G7 summit in Hiroshima, the leaders of the states demonstrated their determination to support Ukraine with additional military aid and sanctions against Russia.

"As the only country to have been atom-bombed during the war, Japan will never recognize a nuclear threat from Russia, let alone use it," said Japanese Cabinet Secretary General Hirokazu Matsuno.

He condemned Russia's actions regarding the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus.

According to a statement by the Foreign Ministry, in coordination with the G7, Japan will freeze the assets of 78 groups and 17 people, including Russian officers, and prohibit exports to 80 Russian organizations associated with military research laboratories.

Japan will also ban construction and engineering services to Russia, although details of this action will be announced later.
