The European Council has approved an agreement on security guarantees with Ukraine.
This was stated by Belgian Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib, RBC-Ukraine reports citing a press conference.
"I would like to note that this morning the EU Council approved a draft joint security commitment between the European Union and Ukraine. And, of course, I have to mention the opening of EU accession negotiations this afternoon," she said.
She also added that Belgium is preparing for the next European Council summit, which will take place later this week in Brussels.
"This European Council will give a full picture of our support for Ukraine in all its manifestations," said Labib.-
