Ukraine has a clear understanding that any plan to end the war with the Russian Federation must be based on international law, and peace must be just.

This was stated by Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, RBC-Ukraine reports citing Reuters.

Commenting on the peace plan for Ukraine presented by key advisers to former US President Donald Trump, Podoliak noted that the war cannot end without bringing Russia to justice.

According to him, it would be "strange" to freeze the war, which has been going on for 28 months, on the current front lines because Russia has violated international law and is on Ukrainian territory.

"Ukraine has an absolutely clear understanding, and it is spelled out in the 'peace formula' proposed by President Zelensky, which clearly states that peace can only be just, and peace can only be based on international law," Podoliak said in an online interview with Reuters.

The adviser to the head of the OP also reiterated Kyiv's position and called the ceasefire conditions announced earlier by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin absurd.

"We see Putin's plan - it is absolutely ridiculous," Podoliak said.
