Borrell answers whether EU aid to Ukraine will change if Trump is elected

The European Union will continue to help Ukraine in the war. This is regardless of the election of Donald Trump as president of the United States.

This was stated by EU High Representative Josep Borrell, RBC-Ukraine reports citing Ukrinform.

“I do not know what the American administration will or will not do. For now, let me say that at this time, the support from the European Union - military, civilian, economic, financial and humanitarian - is greater than the support from the United States. More than 100 billion euros is the bill we have paid. This includes 45 billion euros of military support. Of course, this is less than the US, but it is also a very important figure,” he said.

According to him, at the beginning of the war, the difference between the military capabilities of Russia and Ukraine was incredible, and the fact that Ukraine resisted was a kind of miracle.

“In the beginning, do you remember what we offered Ukraine? Helmets! Now we are offering F-16s, and there is a difference. One thing is clear to me: as long as Ukraine resists, we have to support it. Otherwise, we will make a historic mistake,” Borrell emphasized.
