The Russian occupiers could have bombed Zaporizhzhia with FAB-500T bombs, which are rarely used by the enemy.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Defense Express.

The publication noted that the video of sappers near Zaporizhzhia neutralizing a Russian bomb probably shows a FAB-500T. The Russians could have equipped it with a unified planning and correction module (UMCM).

According to journalists, the FAB-500T was created in Soviet times and was intended for use with MiG-25RB reconnaissance and strike aircraft.

The “T” in the name of the bomb stands for “heat-resistant” - the bomb's body had to withstand temperature loads, as the MiG-25RB could reach speeds of up to 3000 kilometers per hour.

At the same time, as Defense Express found out, the FAB-500T could fly up to 30-40 kilometers, provided the carrier aircraft accelerated. Now the UMPC allows the bomb to fly even further.

It is likely that the Russians have resumed production of such bombs at their factories, as propagandists published relevant footage in March.

Defense Express assumes that when the FAB-500T is equipped with a unified planning and correction module, the bomb's range becomes much greater than 70 kilometers, which is still the “standard” range for occupiers' bombs.
