In particular, Umerov announced commitments to supply F-16s and Mirage-2000s.

“Talks about commitments or consultations are ongoing regarding Gripen, consultations are ongoing regarding Eurofighters. That is a very good list of platforms, and we are discussing when they will start. We will have the results soon, and we will announce them. I hope we will announce them soon,” the minister said.

According to him, the ministry used to focus on pilot training, infrastructure for fighter jets, and operational platforms, and now aims to achieve air superiority over the Russian Armed Forces.

“Last year, we worked to focus on pilot training, on getting platforms, building all the necessary infrastructure, and this year we will focus on how to increase this to the point where we have an advantage over the enemy in the air. These processes have already been established, but they need to be scaled up, and we are working on this now. And we already have solutions that we are working on with our partners,” Umerov said.
