According to the Romanian Ministry of Defense, the military was inspecting the area in search of possible fragments of drones that could have fallen there in recent weeks during Russian air attacks on Ukrainian ports on the Danube.

On September 24, experts examined the area around the village of Plauru in Tulcea County, where reports of possible drone fragments were received. They were removed and sent for further examination.

The ministry noted that the find was initially believed to be the wreckage of an Iranian Shahed drone, which Russia uses under the name Geranium-2.

The Romanian Defense Ministry has once again condemned Russia's shelling of Ukrainian civilian infrastructure and emphasized that it contravenes international law.
