Duda to meet with Trump this week
Polish President Andrzej Duda will meet with future US presidential candidate Donald Trump during his visit to New York this week.
A person from the Polish president's inner circle told WP.pl on condition of anonymity.
According to the source, the meeting is being organized by former US Ambassador to Poland Georgette Mosbacher and Poland's permanent representative to the UN Krzysztof Szczerski.
The source said that Duda has long sought a meeting with Trump, and the presidential palace is allegedly convinced that the Republican Party leader will win the US presidential election.
"With this scenario, President Duda wants to secure a 'soft landing' in international institutions after his presidential term ends in August 2025," he said without elaborating.
