During an anti-terrorist raid in Jenin, the Israeli army (IDF) used Maoz combat drones manufactured by the Israeli military industry concern Rafael for the first time.
This was reported by Vesti. Israel in Russian.
Soldiers of the Duvdevan and Maglan special forces used them in Jenin to strike at terrorist targets near the local refugee camp.
During the two-day operation, six such drones were launched to attack the militants' headquarters and observation post with explosive charges.
The IDF emphasized the effectiveness of drones in safely blowing up weapons and explosives depots and intend to use them in the future for targeted liquidations of terrorists.
Maoz drones are considered kamikaze drones, capable of carrying a small charge of explosives and targeting a given target.
They are able to move quietly inside buildings or along narrow streets, exploding near targets specified for them.
