US President-elect Donald Trump should be taken seriously when he talks about ending Russia's war against Ukraine. Negotiations are possible in the coming months.
This was stated by Finnish President Alexander Stubb, RBC-Ukraine reports citing his interview with Bloomberg.
“We in Europe and around the world need to understand that Donald Trump is very serious about concluding a peace agreement as soon as possible,” Stubb said after a phone conversation with Trump.
According to him, “there is a window of opportunity for these negotiations between the election and inauguration day.”
Trump won the election on November 5, defeating Vice President Kamala Harris, and will be inaugurated on January 20 in Washington.
Speaking at the COP29 climate summit in Baku, Azerbaijan, Stubb listed four preconditions for peace in Ukraine. One of them is territory - “and here we don't know where everything will be resolved,” he said. The second is security guarantees, the third is justice, and “then number four is reconstruction.”
