Russian troops may soon launch ground assaults in the southern Zaporizhzhia region. This could happen within a few days.
This was stated by Vladyslav Voloshyn, a spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces, RBC-Ukraine reports citing Sky News.
According to Voloshyn, the attacks could create a new pressure point for the Ukrainian military, which is already lagging behind in the east. Although it is unclear whether it will be one large-scale Russian offensive or separate assaults.
“The assaults may begin in the near future, we are not even talking about weeks, we expect it to happen any day,” the spokesman said.
He added that Russian troops in the area outnumbered Ukrainian defenders.
