Apr 16, 2024

At a meeting on Tuesday, the Latvian government decided to send the first batch of drones as part of the "drone coalition" initiated by the country.

This was stated by the Prime Minister of Latvia, Eika Silina, as quoted by Delfi.

While Latvia has previously sent drones with public donations, today's decision marks the first large batch of drones.

Defence Minister Andris Spruds said that this is Latvia's first major contribution to the coalition.

Local industry is involved in the procurement, which means that the drone coalition is actively gaining momentum to support Ukraine.

The drones for Ukraine are of high quality and have been tested, the minister added.
