Tusk responds to Duda's critical statements

Apr 16, 2024

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has commented on Polish President Andrzej Duda's statements that the idea of a European missile defense system is a "German business project".

Tusk's statement was cited by RMF24.

According to the Polish prime minister, it does not matter to him "who has what business in arms or defense", it is important that Poland is more secure.

"Do the Americans do business on the equipment they sell us? Of course they do," he said.

Tusk added that "there should be an airtight dome, an iron dome, over the Polish sky as much as possible."

Speaking about Poland's potential participation in the European initiative "Sky Shield", he said that this is not "an alternative to something, but only a complement" and does not mean abandoning existing Polish programs aimed at protecting the sky from missile attacks.
