Lukashenko names Putin's "only mistake" in war with Ukraine

Self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko believes that the leader of the aggressor country, Russia, Vladimir Putin, should have started the war earlier and regrets that he failed.

This was reported by the Belarusian news agency BELTA.

"Perhaps our only mistake was that we did not resolve this issue in 2014-2015, when Ukraine had neither an army nor readiness... Everyone wanted to settle it peacefully. And during this time, they were creating combat-ready armed forces," Lukashenko said.

He also added that he agrees with Putin, who says that "we did not start this war" and expressed the opinion that "it began long before 2014."
