Zelenskyy voices two scenarios if Ukraine does not join NATO quickly
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy insists that all countries that share a common border with Russia, including Ukraine, should join the EU and NATO because of the constant Russian threat.
He said this at the summit of the European Political Community in Chisinau, Yevropeiska Pravda reports.
"Russia is afraid of NATO and is trying to absorb only those who are outside the common security space. We have frozen wars in neighboring territories. For example, why is the Russian army in Transnistria? The Kremlin needs it only to unfreeze an attack on Moldova one day," Zelenskyy said.
According to him, "All countries that border Russia and do not want to be torn apart by Russia should join the EU and NATO."
"And we have only two alternatives - either open war or occupation by Russia step by step," the Ukrainian president added.
Zelenskyy said he expects Ukraine to join the EU and NATO as soon as possible.
