Iran to transfer a thousand missiles and new drones to Russia – CNN

Nov 1, 2022

Iran is preparing to send Russia about 1,000 additional weapons, including short-range surface-to-surface ballistic missiles and more strike drones.

This is reported with the reference to CNN.

It is noted that the deliveries are being closely monitored, as this will be the first time Iran will be transferring advanced high-precision guided missiles to Russia, which could give the Kremlin a significant boost on the battlefield.

According to unnamed Western officials, the latest shipment of weapons from Iran to Russia included about 450 drones, which the Russians have already used in Ukraine. Last week, it was reported that the AFU shot down more than 300 Iranian drones.

It is emphasized that the new expected shipment will mark a significant increase in Iranian support for Russia’s military efforts. Although the exact timing of when the shipment will arrive in Russia is unknown, officials believe that the weapons will definitely be delivered before the end of the year.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, the Russian Federation could use Iranian ballistic missiles with a range of up to 700 kilometers against Ukraine as early as next month.

Earlier, the EU imposed sanctions against Iran for transferring drones to the Russian army. New sanctions against Iran were also imposed by the United States.
