75% of American aid remains there. Patriots did not come from the US

Allies are providing significant assistance to Ukraine in the war against Russia, but this is to their own benefit. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in an interview with CBS News, which was recorded during his trip to the Sumy region on March 27.

According to him, the West's support helped Ukraine survive the winter of 2023-2024, but it is impossible to limit the amount of time of support under current conditions.

"We have to be honest: if not for our partners, this winter could have been very difficult for us. But this does not diminish our need for artillery... You can't just say that you need another year or you need 1 billion, it doesn't work that way," the President said.

He noted that most of the funds allocated by the United States, in particular, are invested in the American military industry.

"Let's be honest: the money allocated by the US Congress, the money allocated by the administration - for the most part, more than 75% of it remains in the United States. The weapons then come to us, but the production goes there and the taxes stay there... Do you want to make one very serious point? We are grateful to the United States for everything, of course, but the Patriot systems that we have, these systems did not come from the United States. You have to understand that if money is allocated, for example, for Patriot systems, which cost $1.5-2 billion, plus missiles, etc., these systems came from different countries, this money never came to us... These tens of billions have never come to Ukraine as money, and it is important to understand this," Zelenskyy summarized.
