The Ukrainian Air Force is not yet ready to officially confirm that on the morning of March 25, Russian troops fired Zircon missiles, which are called hypersonic missiles in the aggressor country of Russia, at Kyiv. This was announced on March 26 by the spokesperson for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ilya Yevlash, during a national telethon broadcast by the Rada channel.

According to Yevlash, experts from a research institute will be able to conclude the type of missiles used by the occupiers. They are currently examining the debris that fell in Kyiv.

"However, we can say for sure that these missiles were shot down and did not cause the damage they could have caused if they had hit the target they were aimed at," Yevlash said.

The Ukrainian military portal Defense Express wrote, citing its sources, that on the morning of March 25, the occupiers hit Kyiv with two ZM22 Zircon missiles. This, according to the publication, is evidenced by the result of a preliminary analysis of the wreckage of two downed missiles that fell within the capital.

The commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Mykola Oleshchuk, said that on March 25, Kyiv was attacked by two missiles, both of which were shot down. The commander described the missiles as ballistic missiles and added that their type was being clarified.

The Kyiv Post, citing a source in the Security Service of Ukraine, wrote that the targets were the SBU buildings and the high-ranking officials who were there. However, Russian missiles damaged civilian infrastructure, including a university building in the Pechersk district.
