Borrell to present plan to buy arms for Ukraine by April – Politico
The head of the European Union's diplomacy, Josep Borrell, will present a plan to purchase weapons for Ukraine by April this year.
This was reported by Politico.
The publication notes that a document containing specific actions last week, dated March 25, outlines steps to increase financial and military support for Ukraine.
According to the document, the EU's top diplomat, Josep Borrell, " is expected to present a proposal for joint procurement initiatives (lethal and non-lethal) by April 2024".
Borrell will also "intensify efforts" to conclude an agreement on the allocation of the next tranche of 500 million euros under the European Peace Facility, which is being blocked by Hungary.
In addition, Borrell and the EU countries will continue discussions on security commitments in order to finalize a joint EU-Ukraine statement.
