Mar 28, 2024

As a result of the latest shelling of Ukraine's energy system, Russian aggressors destroyed two-thirds of the power units at DTEK's thermal power plants that the company repaired in 2023. DTEK's Executive Director Dmitry Sakharuk said this on Thursday, March 28.

"The worst situation is that two-thirds of the restored units that we have repaired since last winter were destroyed. We have restored 10 units and two-thirds have been destroyed. If we used to talk about damage, now we are talking about the word destruction," he said during the event "NV Dialogues on the Future. Ukraine's European Path" event.

Sakharuk added that the company's largest thermal power plants have suffered the most significant damage during the full-scale invasion.

"Unlike last winter, the accuracy of the missiles is impressive. There is a meter range. If earlier it was 100 meters, 200, 300 meters, now it is just flying meter by meter and, unfortunately, the consequences are enormous," he explained.
