This was reported by RBC-Ukraine regarding the Belgian presidency of the EU Council on Twitter and Radio Liberty.

"EU ambassadors agreed on a new compromise to extend trade measures for Ukraine, ensuring a balanced approach between supporting Ukraine and protecting EU agricultural markets," the presidency said in a statement.

It is specified that the initiative will now be presented to the European Parliament "to reach an agreement as soon as possible".

According to Radio Liberty, citing an unnamed official, EU ambassadors approved the continuation of trade liberalization with Ukraine, provided that quotas and duties under the safeguard mechanism will be introduced taking into account import volumes not only in 2022 and 2023 but also in 2021.
