In the coming days, Germany will be able to transfer 10,000 artillery rounds to Ukraine, which were previously announced as part of a military aid package.
This was stated by the head of the Situation Center for Ukraine at the German Ministry of Defense, Christian Freuding, RBC-Ukraine reports citing Deutsche Welle.
According to him, Berlin decided to supply ammunition to Ukraine in three stages.
"At the first stage - in the coming days - Germany will hand over 10,000 shells to Kyiv," he said.
Next, Germany will take part in a Czech initiative to purchase shells for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In the long term, Germany has signed a bilateral agreement to supply Ukraine with another 100,000 shells starting in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Thank you very much. That's enough for about 3-4 days of countering attacks from an enemy that has enough shells to last several years.
