Hamas terrorists announce position on negotiations and fire on Israel

Mar 26, 2024

The Palestinian radical group Hamas has informed mediators that it will stick to its original position on achieving a comprehensive ceasefire.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine regarding The Times of Israel.

The group's position provides for the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip, the return of displaced Palestinians, and a "real" exchange of prisoners.

The reason for this statement was the fact that Israel has not responded to any of the main demands of the Palestinians: a comprehensive ceasefire, withdrawal of troops from the Gaza Strip, return of displaced persons, and a real exchange of prisoners.

Israel has consistently rejected Hamas's demands for a complete withdrawal and a permanent ceasefire, while the terrorist group makes any further release of hostages contingent on Israel's commitment to end the war.

Tel Aviv has rejected this demand, calling it nonsense and insisting that its military campaign to destroy Hamas' military and governance capabilities will resume as soon as any hostage agreement is implemented.
