Kharkiv Administration responds to Putin's plans to seize Kharkiv

Mar 26, 2024

In the 761 days of the full-scale war, the Russian occupation forces have not been able to capture a single major Ukrainian city, including Kharkiv, in combat. This was emphasized on March 26 in a Telegram post by Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the UWA, commenting on the latest statements about the aggressor country's plans to occupy Kharkiv.

According to Sinehubov, the occupiers were unable to defeat the indomitable Kharkiv residents either in 2022 or 2023 or to hold their positions in the settlements of the Kharkiv region.

"At the same time, for three years now, we have been hearing about how [Russian President Vladimir] Putin wants to take Kharkiv," the OVA chairman emphasized. "This is a medieval barbarian tactic: what they cannot take on the battlefield, they fire at with missiles, planes, and artillery. Therefore, the occupiers' crazy fantasies are accompanied by daily shelling of civilians. But the destruction of civilian homes is the only thing the occupiers can do out of powerlessness at the front."

As Syniehubov pointed out, there is "a single and fair response to such "statements".

"And Ukrainian defenders are proving it on the battlefield every day," the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration summarized.
