Maloney: Putin's threats don't scare us

Mar 25, 2024

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has said that she is not afraid of the Kremlin's threatening rhetoric.

This was reported by ANSA.

The agency notes that Meloni was commenting on Vladimir Putin's statements after the terrorist attack in a concert hall in the suburbs of Moscow, for which Kremlin propaganda is trying to find a "connection with Ukraine" despite the fact that ISIS claimed responsibility for it.

"I think the situation hasn't changed from what has happened before," said Maloney.

"We have to continue to do our job, which is to provide the deterrence that Europe and the West have already been able to put in place. And this is the best guarantee that there will be no escalation. If we were afraid of Putin's statements, we would have been afraid much earlier," the Italian Prime Minister added.
