"The secretary and the department as a whole continue to actively engage and work with Congress in an effort to get the bill passed with additional funding," the Pentagon spokesman said.

According to him, the passage of the National Security Authorization Act is vital for the Pentagon.

"There are many reasons, not the least of which is to continue to support Ukraine in its fight," Ryder said.

As a reminder, the US Congress has been unable to approve new funding for Ukraine for several months now to continue supplying weapons and more. This situation is due to disagreements between Republicans and Democrats over border security, which was included in the package with the assistance of Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan.
