After the presidential election in the aggressor country of Russia, which was won by the current head of state, Vladimir Putin, repressions against the undesirables will continue to intensify. This was reported by Medusa on March 26, citing sources close to the Kremlin.

In their opinion, Putin's main personal interest will remain the war against Ukraine, but it is not about new twists and turns, but about deepening the current situation.

According to one of the publication's sources, the scenarios of further "tightening the screws" and escalation with the West are due to the war. "This is a state that is at war and lives under the slogan 'Everything for victory'. Or rather, the president would like it to live like that. There is no place for dissidents, gays, etc. Everything is subordinated to the war," he said.

The publication's interlocutors are confident that Russia will see a complete curtailment of political competition, particularly at the regional level. According to one of the sources close to the Kremlin, the presidential party United Russia will win the federal elections with increasing confidence, "gaining" up to 80% of the vote. The rest will be divided roughly equally between the Communist Party, the Liberal Democratic Party, and the New People.

The political consultant, who works with both the Russian presidential administration and regional administrations, is confident that the contours of a one-party system are already being outlined in Russia. According to him, the differences in the parties' agendas are not that great, and most importantly, they all support Putin. The expert believes that other parties will continue to operate, but rather as a kind of government or administration department: one of them will be responsible for pensioners, the other for business, etc.
