It is noted that the police evacuated three victims and two women who asked to "take them out of hell."

"The enemy targeted elderly people who were still in the dangerous area. It was a miracle that there were no fatalities," the statement said. "A 70-year-old man and two women aged 57 and 64 sustained shrapnel wounds. Law enforcement officers provided first aid and took them to the hospital. Two more women asked to be evacuated because they realized that they might not survive the next arrival."

They emphasize that while the police were taking people away, the occupants continued to shell Krasnohorivka.

"The crew was flying back past the smoldering ruins: a little earlier and they would have had to maneuver under shells," the statement said.
